BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Jordan was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina in middle school when his father attended Seminary. After graduating from high school, he pursued intensive practice and development of his golf game before entering Methodist College in Fayetteville, North Carolina to pursue a degree in Professional Golf Management. Dr. Jordan became interested in psychology during his freshman year and changed his major to psychology with a concentration in clinical psychology. After graduating from Methodist College with his BS in Psychology he worked for several years in college admissions as well as the restaurant and hospitality industry before returning to graduate school at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA in 2003.

Dr. Jordan was interested in the integration of psychology and spirituality and was accepted into Regent University’s five year APA accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, which specialized in Christian Integration in Psychology and Theology. While at Regent University he also felt called to pursue a seminary degree to further increase his knowledge and understanding of Christian Spirituality. He acquired his Masters in Practical Theology and is an ordained minister through Vanguard Ministries. Upon completion of his doctoral program he pursued a two-year post-doctoral residency at Christian Psychotherapy Services in Virginia Beach, VA.

Following his post-doctoral residency and licensing, Dr. Jordan opened his own private practice in Suffolk, Virginia partnering with Sentara Family Medicine Physicians and building an integrated behavioral healthcare practice in the primary care setting. Dr. Jordan grew his practice over the next three years adding other licensed mental health providers and nurse practitioners to several practice locations. He and his family moved to Fredericksburg Virginia in December 2018 to expand his opportunity to work in primary care.

Dr. Jordan has joined Colonial Internal Medicine Associates to further develop his vision of integrated behavioral healthcare within its Wellness Center. Dr. Jordan utilizes a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to treatment. This approach focuses on integrating biology, psychology, sociology, and spirituality to treat the physical, emotional, and relational disorders that negatively impact health and wellness. Further, he specializes in treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and trauma and stressor-related disorders.

Dr. Jordan lives in Spotsylvania with his wife and three children. He still enjoys playing golf and is a loyal “Carolina Tar Heels” fan!
