BIOGRAPHY

Andrea was raised in Philadelphia and recently moved to Virginia with her husband. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Andrews University located in Michigan, and a master’s in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in 1995.  In 2005, Andrea become a National Board Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2006.

Andrea has over 25 years of Supervisory/Managerial/Direct Care Experience and is skilled in evidence-based modalities such as: Collaborative Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Structural Family Therapy and Collaborative Problem Solving including a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Her background includes residential treatment facilities, outpatient mental health agencies, community and school-based organizations, and correctional facilities.

Andrea believes that understanding her patient’s worldviews and values are the framework of a good therapeutic relationship, has a sense of humor and strives to acknowledge each patient’s unique lived experiences. Andrea is passionate about being a co-facilitator in helping her patients accomplish their goals to live successfully.

You will often find Andrea with a smile on her face when greeting her patients as she is a morning person.
