An Interview with Dr. Juan Munoz Gonzalez

Dr. Munoz was born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. He completed a bachelor degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003. That same year, he started his medical education at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and obtained the degree of Medical Surgeon in 2007.

He continued his medical education and after another year of training he graduated from the Program of Clinical and Tropical medicine from the Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico.

Dr. Munoz was accepted to his specialty training in Internal Medicine at Damas Hospital/Ponce School of Medicine which he completed in 2012 and in 2013 he and his wife moved to the Fredericksburg area and both fell in love with this historic and beautiful town. He started working as an adult hospitalist with special attention to the Intensive Care Unit at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center and eventually at Mary Washington Hospital. Dr. Munoz was part of the Sepsis Committee and the rapid Response Team.

He joined CIMA in March 2018 to deliver quality care to the Fredericksburg community focusing on preventive care. Dr. Munoz has a special interest in Geriatrics, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Rheumatology.

Dr. Munoz and his wife live in Fredericksburg and have two children. On his spare time he loves to spend time with family and personal fitness.
