Dr. Abisoye Fakayode was born in Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world.
She completed her undergraduate education and medical school at the University of Lagos in 2008, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She also received a distinction in Health management, planning and development during her training.
Following graduation, she completed a one-year internship at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, then worked as a Medical officer at several hospitals.
Dr. Fakayode was accepted to specialty training in Internal Medicine at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in New Jersey, graduated in 2018 and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
She commenced work as a primary care physician at Southern Jersey Family Medical Center where she served on the Quality Improvement Team.
Dr. Fakayode has special interest in Preventative medicine, Endocrinology and Infectious diseases. She lives with her husband and 2 children in Fredericksburg.
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading articles and watching HGTV and is a regular volunteer at her local church in the Children’s Department..
Her goal for the future is to continue doing what gives her joy- helping people get better and live healthier productive lives.
